There are various statutory criteria which need to be fulfilled in order to qualify to exercise your right to manage. These requirements relate to the nature of your block.
- Two thirds of the total number of flats must be owned by those with leases originally granted for at least 21 years
- No more than 25% of the internal floor space is used for commercial purposes
- No local authority is the intermediate landlord of a qualifying tenant
- The freeholder is not a resident landlord (Resident Landlord Exemption)
