The Civil Procedure (Amendment) Rules 2014 (SI 2014/407) (2014 Rules) were made on 24 February 2014 and laid before Parliament on 27 February 2014. The 2014 Rules amend the Civil Procedure Rules 1998 (SI 1998/3132).
Rules 22 and 23 of the 2014 Rules provide that possession claims that cannot be issued online, that is, forfeiture and landlord and tenant claims, may now be started at any County Court office and sent by that office to the appropriate hearing centre.
These Rules will come into force on the date on which section 17(1) and (2) of the Crime and Courts Act 2013 comes into force. That date has not been appointed.
